Let’s talk about overgiving. (Why beat around the bush? 🥰)
Overgiving includes but is not limited to: overdoing, over-responsibility, overloving (yes, it’s a word ;-), and overworking to prove your worth and value.
Overgiving looks like you trying to be a perfect saint taking care of everyone, helping everyone even before they ask, doing waaaay more than you should in relationships (probably trying to hold the thing together), and not getting back anywhere close to what you actually want or deserve.
Overgiving probably means that you don’t ask for help because you’re too busy helping everyone else to bother with your own needs. Let’s face it, other people’s problems seem pretty straightforward compared to our own.
Overgiving in your business looks like trying to make your product or service work for everyone. You probably worry about being out of reach for some people or maybe too complicated for others.
Overgiving probably means that you give discounts, stay late, come in early, and spend lots of time answering client emails or calls in between.
And all of this together likely means that you are SPENT.
If you’ve been extra tired and aren’t sure why…this could be the reason.
What do you get for all that hard work, time, and emotional effort?
Ready for this?
You get people around you who are take-take-takers.
You’ve trained them. #nojudgment
You’ve trained them that no matter what, you’ll always have more to give.
It’s set you up for exhaustion, burnout, frustration, heartache, and anxiety.
I’ve been there. I get it.
But you can get out of it.
Start looking at all of the ways you’ve been overgiving and overdoing. Write them down. Look at what you’ve been asking for in return. Then look at what you’ve actually received. The odds are that you’re not asking, and therefore you’re not receiving as you could be.
As you assess this flow of giving and receiving you’ll probably notice other areas that may be a little out of balance too.
What if your energy was spent with the right people, in a way that feels true and natural for you, and you got to ask for what you wanted too?
What if you knew exactly what you wanted, asked for it, AND received it…and that helped you to be so well-fueled to share your magic with clients who really respected your gifts, time, and energy?
What if you shifted your standards just a bit so that you attracted friends, a partner, and loved ones who were as committed to giving to you as you are?
That feels balanced, doesn’t it? Maybe even a bit luxurious?
This is what is possible for you.
You can do this.
I’m here to help. If you’re ready for a big shift to get your giving and receiving back in balance so you can feel fueled and in flow. Let’s talk about what can change for you and EXACTLY HOW TO DO IT.
I’m here ready to help you become the wealthy balanced woman of your daydreams. Reach out and let’s talk about what’s possible for you.
