A long time ago, this woman did an oracle card reading for me.

It was one card. I do not remember the card.

But I have never forgotten her message to me.

She said that I needed to open up to receiving…and that if I truly opened to receiving, I could give from my overflow and not have to worry about feeling depleted.

This made sense because I was a chronic overgiver. (Blink once if this is you too 🙂 )

If you blinked once, imagine this for yourself.

Imagine all of your energy is stored in three clay vases. You decided their color, style, etc.

These three clay vases sit together in a rimmed tray.

When you think about your energy levels in each vase, you might imagine looking in one that was half full, another that was bone dry, and still another that may even be dusty.

And the tray (where the overflow would go) was dry.

(This is what I pictured for myself.)

What do you see for yourself? Picture it honestly and from your heart. This is just for you.

NOW, imagine opening up to all of the good things flowing to you (within your standards) from your friends, family, employees, clients, the Divine, the Universe, and so on…

And you receiving them all without the worry of your worthiness, how you would pay it back to keep the scorecard balanced, how others would feel giving to you… none of that.

Your only job is to joyfully and openly receive.

What happens to your vases then?

They quickly fill to overflowing.

Soon the overflow has filled the tray.

And you are so constantly and completely fueled that when you give to others, you can give from your overflow.

No more depletion. No more exhaustion.

How does that sound to you?

Did I hear you sigh?

It feels really good. I promise you.

How do you start? Open your arms, open your hands, open your heart.

See, feel, and appreciate all of the good that flows to you each day.

Say, “Thank you” when someone gives you a compliment.
Say, “Thank you” when someone gives you a treat or gift.
Say, “Thank you” when someone does something for you.
Say, “Thank you, I receive that” when someone speaks highly of you.

You can think of other moments in life when you have turned your back on something instead of receiving it. Add them to the list.

Receive constantly with every breath.

Feel the warmth of that receiving as if it is the sun shining on your face.

Start opening to receiving and then opening even more so that you can give from your overflow.

Practice makes better.

Let me know how it goes.
