There’s an old saying, “You’ve got bigger fish to fry.”
Have you heard it?
It means you’ve got more important things to do, stop wasting your time on the other stuff.
There are times when we are tested and called to step out of our old ways and into new ways of being, thinking, relating, and creating.
Often when we are in these growth stages, we feel like we have to meet every demand of our growth.
For me, this often looks like having hard conversations instead of just letting it go or letting it be.
Do you ever feel that?
Yesterday, I talked to my coach (yes! I have coaches) about a conversation I had with someone in a program I am participating in and how I felt like I needed to go and speak my truth to them.
She said to me, “No, you don’t.”
She continued, “You don’t have to go and speak your truth to him. You don’t have to try to change his perspective. You would probably make an impact on him, but maybe not. You don’t have to save him. You’ve got more important things to do for YOURSELF, Rebecca.”
I said, Yes! I’ve got many big things going on, and I don’t have to stop to take care of him. First of all, he didn’t ask for my perspective. And well, I’m going to stop there. That’s all I need to remember.
My coach and I talked about how leaders, coaches, practitioners, and healers get messaging that we have to take every opportunity to save the world and how that’s not true.
We don’t have to do anything. I don’t have to do anything.
At the same time, I get to be generous as my heart guides me.
Did you take a big sigh of relief too?
You get to decide everything.
You can give as you are guided by love and not by ego or fears.
And in the moments when you feel called to share your message and change the world, I am here to remind you that you can do it with ease, trust, confidence, knowing that people are waiting to meet you and be transformed by your work.
You get to stop doing the things you think you have to do so that you have the energy to do all the things you want to do.
Fry your own fish (or veggies) first. Take care of yourself first. Then go out and share your passion, message, and mission.
I hope you have a magical day.
